15" Asiatic Pheasants Platter
Asiatic Pheasant Meat Plate.
Circa 1890, this beautiful ironstone platter features the ever popular design “Asiatic Pheasants.” and was created by Wedgewood Pottery, seen stamped on the reverse.
Very large in size and heavy, this has a lovely fluted edge and a stained crazing to the front (shown) which is reflected in the overall price- there are no cracks or chips.
Traditionally a pale blue transfer, Asiatic Pheasants was first introduced in 1822 by Ralph Hall of Swan Bank Pottery, Staffordshire and has since been produced widely by Burleigh Pottery also.
Ideal for placing upon a shelf, this large platter makes a delightful piece of vintage decor for any home.
