Vernacular Elm Cutlers Stool.

Full of primitive charm, this dark wood stool has three square legs, supported by oak strings around the base, and a chunky elm top.

Circa early 1900s, the wood has developed a beautiful aged patina from many years of use- there is a slight wobble to the stool but it is sturdy enough to sit on.

Thought to originate from the silversmiths of Sheffield, Cutler's stools were designed for their practicality as well as comfort- to be sat on all day in a raised position whilst working.

Now, this is a great antique piece of decor for any home, place in a kitchen at a breakfast bar or in a hallway as a stand alone piece.
