Georgian Oak Side Table
Georgian Oak Side Table.
Circa early 1800s, this beautiful pale oak side table has a single dovetail jointed drawer, with brass pulls, a plank top and straight, tapered legs.
A marriage piece, the top and back were once part of a drop-leaf table, see the old hinge- which really adds to this pieces story.
There are chips to the drawer front and a crack to the top- though it is square and sturdy, the aged patina really adds to the charm!
I have lightly rubbed the wood with wire wool to clean the surface but left it raw (unwaxed).
Full of vernacular charm, this is perfectly proportioned and would make a great desk, it's a lovely antique piece of decor for any home.
