Giant Mochaware Jug, 1850s
Giant 19th Century Mochaware Jug- See Damage.
Circa 1860s, this beautiful old Mochaware jug is made from yellow clay and features the traditional 'Seaweed' pattern around the belly, complimented by blue and brown stripes.
There is a crack on one side which travels to the base, this has historic repairs (see photos) and this is all reflected in the overall price, this is not water tight.
Originally created for use in pubs, a working mans piece, mochaware was made to be used, they have since become a collectible country home staple- perfect for displaying upon a shelf holding dried flowers.
