Glyn Colledge Hand Painted Jug.
A striking piece and very collectible, this beautiful pitcher was created by Glyn Colledge, for Denby Pottery in the 1960s.
Colledge started running the Hand Decorated Stoneware department at Denby in the 1950s, after his father Albert. The collection titled 'Glynbourne' (which this jug is from) was introduced in the 1960s and can be identified by the hand painted signature on the base.
Signed here in green, the base also reads 'MADE IN ENGLAND'.
The painted glaze depicts large leaves, decorative swirls and an embossed handle- it has an unusual wide spout.
Sadly the handle has previously broken off (shown) but has been repaired and is very subtle, this is reflected in the overall price.
Jug Measures-
Height- 15cm / 6”
Handle to Spout- 15cm / 6”
