Antique Neoclassical Spit Guard.
Circa 1870, this antique fire guard has an ornate wrought iron frame, splayed legs and a beautiful tinned-copper plate which has developed a striking patina over the years.
Truly one of a kind, to the front of the guard is a bronzed oval plaque- depicting an ethereal woman underneath a flying bat- this has a lovely ribbon boarder and bow detail above.
In very good condition, the frame is still sturdy- full of gothic charm, this makes a lovely piece of decor for any home.
