French Confit Pot

Rustic Earthenware Pot.

Circa early 19th century, this French terracotta confit pot has two small side handles, a rounded belly and a yellow drippy glazed lip- the word 'Sugar' has been hand painted across the front at a later date.

These clay bowls were usually left unglazed on the exterior base to help with temperature regulation whilst cooking, there are some historic imperfections but overall this is in very good condition.

Fully water tight, this would look great as an indoor planter, it could be used in a pantry or simply displayed on a kitchen shelf, it's a lovely piece of antique decor for any home.
